Traditional marathon Liberation will be held August 21 in Kharkiv. About 3,000 athletes will participate in it, including employees of City Hall and the City Council.
From the city council on the start will come the director of the Department of Housing Roman Nehoroshkov, head of the Moscovsky district Oleg Tovkun and others, Newsroom informs (RU).
A vice-governor Julia Svetlichnaya, as well as last year, will run a distance of 10 km.
“This year is the second time I will take part in the traditional marathon, which takes place in Kharkiv on the eve of Independence Day of Ukraine. I believe that such sporting events – a great opportunity for everyone to test their strength and demonstrate the ability to achieve the desired goals,” said Svetlichnaya.
The race will begin at 8 am at the stadium Dynamo. Participation in the marathon is free, but it a medical certificate of each participant and registration is required.
BACKGROUND: It will be XXXI traditional running marathon “Liberation” in Kharkiv. Participants are offered to run four possible distances: 42.2 km, 21.1 km, 10 km and 3 km. In 2015, about 5,000 people attended the event. The youngest of athletes was 5 years old, and the oldest – 94 years old.
