The US Senate has approved a bill to financial support for defense of Ukraine up to $500 million.
“$250,000,000 may be used for assistance and support described in subsection (a) for the Government of Ukraine; and $250,000,000 may be used for purposes described in paragraph (3), of which not more than $150,000,000 may be used for such purposes for a particular foreign country,” states the official document “National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017”.
A coordinated version of the bill on the defense budget should be presented for signature to President Barack Obama before September 30, 2016.
Moreover, the Portuguese Government will provide assistance to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for 200 million euros, informed the Defense Minister of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak on his page to Facebook (UA).
