Kharkiv violinist and composer Dina Mukhametova together with groups Spiel de trois and Polar Nikki recorded a cover of Jamala’s song 1944, which brought the Ukrainian singer victory at the Eurovision contest.
The musicians recorded the video next to the inscription “I love Kharkiv”.
According to the performer, the video was recorded to celebrate the victory of Jamala, and in support of the next Eurovision in Kharkiv.
As TheKharkivTimes wrote earlier, numerous appeals to the Mayor appeared on the social networks, as well as an e-petition to the City Council with a request to hold the next Eurovision contest at the Freedom Square.
The city mayor Gennady Kernes replied: “I think Kharkiv is worthy of holding the contest and has all the possibilities to hold it. Therefore, if the organizers want to hold a competition here – we will sit down and talk.”
