On Thursday, July 28, a day of action dedicated to the fight against viral hepatitis will be held in Kharkiv.
Everyone will be able to get a free blood test to check for hepatitis C virus.
From 9:30 till 14:00, the mobile clinic will be located at the exit of the metro station “Universitet” (str. Sumska, 39/8).
BACKGROUND: Hepatitis C is an infectious disease caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV) that primarily affects the liver. In the world of 180 million people are infected with hepatitis C, of which at least 1.2 million live in Ukraine. Rates of hepatitis C in Ukraine remains among the fastest in Europe.
Most often, infection occurs through non-sterile medical, dental and cosmetic tools. However, most people do not know that they are infected: in 80% of cases the disease is asymptomatic, unbeknownst to the person and becomes chronic, which ends in cirrhosis and liver cancer.
