A Kharkiv delegation took part in the International Tourism Conference’s “Destination Branding: keys to building a successful reputation”, on 20-21 June in Kiev, according to the city council (RU).
At the conference, there was a presentation of the case of branding tourist cities of Ukraine, including Kharkiv as the “SMART City”.
The conference discussed marketing and branding issues, cities and tourist areas.
In addition, representatives of local executive bodies and local authorities attended a masterclass by Tom Buncle, managing director of the company “Yellow Railroad” and author of the UNWTO “Branding destinations”.
The conference was attended by Secretary General of the UNWTO Taleb Rifai, and speakers from leading international organizations and companies. In particular, the World Tourism Organization, the European Travel Commission, national tourist organizations in Europe, as well as the world’s leading travel companies.
BACKGROUND: The conference is organized by the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, in cooperation with the World Tourism Organization – the United Nations specialized agency for Tourism (UNWTO).
