Ten top ideas aimed at solving social problems have been presented in a competition in Kharkiv.
The Science-Society-Personality project was organized by the State Fund for Fundamental Research (SFFR) of Ukraine. Co-organizers are the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Representation of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kyiv (PAN), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, councils of young scientists, informs Glavnoe (RU).
“The idea of the competition and thematic scientific discussion came to me during a visit of CERN, when students presented their projects. Students’ developments differ with non-trivial approaches and proposals,” said the director of SFFR, Academician of National Academy of Science (NAS) of Ukraine, Borys Grinyov.
The project of fourth-student Andrey Lavrov of Vinnytsia National Technical University – “Control unit of systems of alternative energy sources and heating devices” – is an innovative decision on complex technical problems.
Author of the project proposed and developed a system of monitoring the consumption and distribution of thermal energy and alternative sources of heating devices. Its main advantage is the ability to use a combination of heating systems.
Postgraduate student of Educational Scientific Center “Institute of Biology” of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Olesya Taburets developed a “new domestic wound healing product based on melanin”.
It’s based on one of the strains of Antarctic black Cryptococcus – Nadsoniella nigra, which were sown from samples obtained by Ukrainian scientists on Galindez Island (Ukrainian Antarctic Station “Academic Vernadsky”). Experimental studies have shown that using it wounds heal much faster and without scar formation.
