The II Kharkiv BookFest will take place on May 18-28 in Kharkiv. Kharkiv BookFest-2016 will be opened with an unusual exhibition of book illustrations, informs the press service of the city council (RU).
On May 18 in the gallery “Smalta” (Myronosytska Street, 45) everyone will be able to see hundreds of fancy, colorful illustrations of six Kharkiv artists.
The exhibition “Face of Book”/ “Oblychia knyzhok” will be the first event of the 10-day festival program of Kharkiv BookFest-2016.
BookFest offers guests a rich program: meetings with writers, presentations of new books, exhibitions of illustrations and photographs, workshops, literary quests, books and cooking marathon, games, contests.
Also at the festival will host a children’s literary quest, a meeting with the children’s writer Anastasia Aleshicheva, opening of lectures on literature, women’s evening of poetry, tour “Literary Kharkiv” from Maxim Rosenfeld. A special place in a series of festival events will take the exhibition, which will showcase the best work in the first all-Ukrainian photo competition “Focus – the book.”
Kharkiv BookFest finishes May 28 with a book fair – Day in the Garden which is traditionally held before the day of publishing and printing industry.
Organizer of the festival is a group of companies “Factor”. The festival is held under the patronage of the Kharkiv mayor, and with the support of the Kharkiv city council.
