Kharkiv state enterprise suspected of financing terrorism

Prosecutors have begun an investigation into an allegation that state officials financed terrorism, Ukrinform reports (RU).

Investigators of the prosecutor’s office of the Kharkiv region are working together with the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).

Deputy prosecutor of the Kharkiv region Valery Romanov, said: “Information about the possible financial cooperation of a Kharkiv state enterprise with representatives of terrorist organizations Lugansk People’s Republic “LPR”/”LNR” and Donetsk People’s Republic “DPR”/”DNR” became known in the investigation of the criminal case on the embezzlement of nearly 200,000 UAH.

It is established that for almost a year forestry had supplied its products to the enterprise which operates on the temporarily occupied territory in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.”

According to him, the employees from the administrative board of the Kharkiv state enterprise are charged with the crimes under articles terrorism financing, embezzlement and forgery.

“Pre-trial investigation is underway. The minimal penal part of Article – 8 years in prison with confiscation of property,” added Romanov.
