The US Assistant Secretary of State Rose Gottemoeller said the USA has a strong commitment to help Ukraine in the energy security, reports Ukrinform.
Cooperation with the Government of Ukraine is one of the priorities for the Obama administration.
“I want to emphasize the continued US commitment to work together with Ukraine in overcoming consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, as well as in the energy security of Ukraine, both in the field of nuclear energy, as well as in other areas,” – said Rose Gottemoeller speaking at the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington.
Gottemoeller also noted the US intends to continue to work on projects to minimize the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
She recalled the US for this purpose allocated additional $10 million, primarily for the construction of a new shelter destroyed reactor.
