A workshop about gender equality in Ukraine has been held in the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, the press service of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration said.
It was initiated by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights OSCE (OSCE/ODIHR) in collaboration with the inter-faction association of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine “Equal Opportunities”.
The project is aimed at strengthening effective mechanisms for dialogue to address key challenges in the human rights sector in Ukraine in accordance with OSCE commitments and international standards.
The event was attended by deputies of Ukraine, representatives of the Kharkiv regional state administration, advisers ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men at the regional state administration, representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR and international gender experts.
Participants discussed new ways to improve gender equality in Ukraine and became acquainted with similar successful projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
