Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) announced about the launch of the project “Ukraine is looking for startups”. Through the program the company KPMG (one of the world’s largest consulting networks) and the investor, author of the books on sales and marketing John Von Achen look for Ukrainian innovative startups and promise investments ranging from $ 200 thousand to $ 2 million. But along with this firstly the residents should complete free trainings.
The investments for startups will be attracted from a number of international investors without naming their names. The participation in all stages of the program for startups is free of charge.
The purpose of the project the UCCI described as: to collect Ukrainian promising startups and business ideas, to create favorable conditions for activation of business and establish new companies through direct investments. The initiative of the project belongs directly to John Von Achen. The UCCI itself acts as a platform for the event.
Besides the investments the residents are promised to get knowledge: Von Achen will hold a training course on “how to prepare, “pack” and present the projects to potential investors”. The specialists of the organization “Youth Business Ukraine” will help him with it. But the course will last only for two days. Previously Von Achen has already been to Ukraine together with Richard Branson on the Forum One.
To apply for funding, Kharkivens must first send an application on the website, fill out the form and send the description of the idea in words or in short video. The Chamber of Commerce hopes to attract more than 100 startups for the first stage. After training courses the residents will be able to present their idea to investors, and the best will receive funding. The applications will be accepted until December 15. The elimination round is open to all projects and businesses from all over Ukraine.
