In Kharkiv the activists with the Ukrainian national symbols gathered at the Taras Shevchenko monument on the traditional Sunday meeting, reported “Spravzhnia Varta”.
According to “Spravzhnia Varta”, the number of participants was about several dozens. The activists sang national hymn and got down to discuss topical issues.
The main theme of the veche was the question – “How to make local government work for people.”
On the veche were released the results of the meeting of activists with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman which took place in an informal setting during his working visit to Kharkiv.
According to one of the coordinator of Kharkiv Euromaidan Igor Rossokha, during the informal meeting the questions were raised about the government and local authorities, justice and jury, the liquidation of the prosecutor’s office, the resignation of Shokin and others.
“There is an urgent need to change the local authorities and Gennady Kernes at the post of the mayor. Also, there is the need to create a community patrol to handle the situation of the security in the city and fight against corruption among the law enforcement agencies,” noticed the activists.
Also, traditionally at the veche was acted “free microphone” through which everyone could express the opinion on a particular issue.
