The Central Election Commission (CEC) refused to register a candidate for deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council, former governor of the region Mikhail Dobkin who tops the electoral list of the “Opposition bloc”. However, on October 18th CEC has registered 105 candidates for deputies of the Kharkiv Regional Council from the party “Opposition bloc” in Kharkiv region, informs the press service of the CEC.
“After considering the documents for registration of candidates for deputies, it was determined the grounds for refusal of registration of particular persons,” said CEC.
In particular, this refers to the deputies from the “Opposition bloc” Mikhail Dobkin, A. Gnezdilova and A. Kobzar assigned to territorial constituencies №63 and №25.
Nevertheless, Mikhail Dobkin intends to appeal the court decision of the CEC about refusal of his registration as a candidate for deputy of the Kharkiv Regional Council.
Kharkiv Regional Election Commission (REC) is obliged to give to the representatives of “Opposition bloc” certificate of candidates’ ID for deputies of the established form. REC is also obliged to hold the repeated draw to determine the numbers of parties’ local organizations for placing their party names in the ballot for the election until October 19th. Through October 24 the REC must ensure production of ballot papers and their delivery to all precinct election commissions.
As Ukrainian Independent Information Agency or UNIAN reported earlier, Kharkiv REC refused to register candidates for deputies of the Kharkiv Regional Council from the local organization of the party “Opposition bloc” legally. Deputy Chairman of the CEC Andrei Magera expressed regret that the CEC canceled the appropriate resolution of the Territorial Election Commission (TEC) unfoundedly and prematurely terminated the powers of all members of the Kharkiv REC.
