Domestic heating bills will nearly double from July 1, it has emerged.
The National Commission for Regulation of Tariffs increased the cost of heating for households at its June 9 meeting, reports “Interfax-Ukraine” (RU).
“The current average tariff for heat for the population is 534 UAH per 1 Gcal. From July 1, the average tariff will be set at 1043 UAH per 1 Gcal (a growth of 95.3%),” said the head of profile department during the discussion, who blamed the rise on the growth of fuel costs, electricity tariffs and wages.
According to committee head Dmitry Vovk, the tariff increase for heat and central heating services will depend on the specific supplying enterprise.
