The contest Miss Kharkiv International is held annually in March.
The aim of this project is to present all the variety and richness of the national-cultural associations of Kharkiv and disclosure of the theme of tolerance in public life.
This year the organizers received 20 applications from young women to participate in the competition. Only 12 contestants were selected – one representative from each country.
“In Kharkiv there are 12 representative offices of countries, so we chose 12 girls – from each country one contestant. That was the main criterion for selection. In addition, we took into account looks but it’s not necessarily that girls should be professional models to get to the competition. The most important thing is the desire to participate,” explains a spokeswoman of the contest Aysel Safarova.
By the fifth anniversary of the project organizers decided to dedicate all events of contestants to one category – the four elements: fire, earth, air and water. For every girl organizers assigned one of the element, and contender for the title of Miss Kharkiv International-2016 should open and show her element during defile, competitions and demonstration of national costumes.
The contest will be held in the ballroom at the Kharkiv Palace Premier Hotel on March 26. Organizers promise prizes to the winner and recognition gift – for the other participants.
