Seventeen athletes from the Kharkiv region will appear at the XV Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, reports the press service of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
This year’s, Paralympic national team of Ukraine will be represented by 172 athletes in 15 sports.
BACKGROUND: The 2016 Summer Paralympics, the fifteenth Summer Paralympic Games, are an upcoming major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities.
Paralympic Games will be held from 7 to 18 September, where it play 526 sets of medals in 22 sports. These Games will see the introduction of two new sports to the Paralympic program: canoeing and the paratriathlon.
