Today, June 14, in honor of World Blood Donor Day (WBDD), Kharkivens were officially awarded as honorary donors of the Kharkiv region, reports the press service of the regional Council (RU).
They got diplomas and certificates of “Honorary Donor of Ukraine” at the blood service center.
In addition, visitors saw an exhibition of children’s drawings “Hand over blood for life.”
BACKGROUND: According to the Health Center, 2940 people got the status of “honorary donor of Ukraine” since 1991. Each of them handed over 40 units of blood or a maximum of 60 doses of plasma.
Today in Kharkiv 94% of the blood supply is provided by voluntary donors.
