A 16-year-old ward of the Kuryazhsky penal colony of the Kharkiv region, Nikita Lomakin, is going to conquer the X-factor’s jury by Lara Fabian’s song “Je t’aime” on May 9, X1 reports (RU).
“Nature gave Nikita a good ear and a beautiful voice. The boy selflessly studied at music school, firmly believing the scene would be the purpose of his life. But it so happened he went to prison,” said the head of Kuryazhsky colony Alexey Shapovalov.
His cellmates say the teen has God’s gift. The ward does vocals for 4-5 hours daily to be well-prepared and have a chance against other contestants.
“Now Nikita is hard preparing for the performance. The prison administration supports the young man in every way, providing for technical equipment and opportunity for daily rehearsals,” Alexey assured.
BACKGROUND: Nikita is a native of the Donetsk region, was born in a large family, and went to the colony for the theft. His father left his mother with five children and the boy did not come up with anything better than to steal.
In prison, Nikita took an active part in the initiative and performed at concerts. He will be released in six months, thus, the vocal competition could be a start in life for him.
