Marsh of memory to the Heaven’s Hundred Heroes was held in Kharkiv on 20 February. From the monument to Taras Shevchenko people passed Sumska Street to the stone in memory of those who died for the independence of Ukraine. The march was attended by about 500 people.
Ahead of the column Kharkivens held a 100-meter flag of Ukraine, divided into two bands. Activists proclaimed anti-Putin slogans, shouting “Glory to Ukraine!” and “Glory to Heroes!”.
Kharkivens laid flowers and light candles neat the memorial stone located near Derzhprom and set to the heroes who died for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
Traffic was blocked during the march on Sumska Street from the monument to Taras Shevchenko to Pravdy Avenue. The column was guarded by law enforcement officers.
