The selection of candidates for a new riot police unit began on the basis of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, as the press service of the university reported. 460 applications were submitted during the competition. One of the main requirements for the candidates is a high level of physical training.
According to the head of the department of operational fighting group Ivan Khudoba, the candidates are also checking the level of fire preparation. Also, the candidates will pass psychological testing and a polygraph test. After the selection a five-day survival course is scheduled.
Candidates who pass the selection, will be divided into groups A, B and C, depending on their physical and moral qualities. “The relevant regulations identified each group. Those candidates who fall into Group A, will execute special functions of the riot police. The second group will consist of “marshals”, – law enforcement officers who carry out a mission of the witness protection program. Candidates who fall into group C, will work in the field of public safety protection during mass events.
