Kharkivens won medals at the world championships in military multi-sport event

Kharkiv fighters from the Ukrainian team won 27 medals at the world championships in military multi-sport event which was held in Kharkiv.

The championship was held from 20 to 22 November in Complex Youth Sports School “Kharkiv Tractor Factory”. It was attended by around 500 athletes from 14 countries, including Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Lebanon, Syria, India, Pakistan, Jordan, Congo, Ghana and Egypt. The competitions concerned military double-event where the athletes demonstrated their skills in shooting and all-styles fight.

According to the results of the competition, the Ukrainian national team has won 57 medals, including 22 gold, and led the medal count. On the second place was the team of Uzbekistan, the third place – the team of Georgia.

As a part of the national team of Ukraine Kharkivens won 27 medals, including six gold medals. In particular, Andrew Paramiy won two gold medals in the super heavyweight and became the champion in the category B-1 (light contact) and B-2 (metered contact). Also, world champions in their categories became Alexander Zavgorodniy, Alexander Bursyak, Denis Zakorin and Denis Martynenko.

Note that sport – military multi-sport event (MMSE) – was founded in Kharkiv region in 1997. And it was in Kharkiv where the world championships of the MMSE were held for eight years. This sport was taken as a basis for the security forces, the armed forces and the National Guard of Ukraine in the preparations of fighters in the ATO area. The next World Championship is scheduled on the next year in Kharkiv.
