The first session of the newly elected City Council: its agenda

The first session of the Kharkiv City Council will open on November 18th. A dozen of issues, mainly organizational ones, is on the agenda. At the meeting, the head of the municipal election commission, Anna Byndych, will announce the election results. Thereafter the mayor‘s and deputies‘ authority comes into effect.

The agenda of the first session also consists of execution of the law on de-communization. The issue of districts, avenues, streets and squares renaming will be considered later – on November 20th.

At the beginning of the session the head of the municipal election commission will announce the results of the City Council deputies and mayoral elections.

The newly elected mayor will take an oath. Anna Byndych will award the mayor and deputies with certificates and badges.

The agenda of the first session includes 12 questions and any other business. Deputies will form permanent commissions, elect the Secretary of the City Council, approve the Deputies Mayor and their conditions of remuneration, as well as consider the city budget and the issue concerning streets renaming, as a Director of the Department of Information and Public Relations of the City Council, Yuri Sidorenko, explains.
