Fairy tale of a Kharkiv resident is nominated for the BBC-2015 prize

BBC Ukraine released a longlist of literary prizes – Book of the Year 2015 and Children’s Book of the Year 2015, which is conducted in partnership with the Cultural Programme of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The Book of Anastasia Aleshicheva “Pony Fialka and magic well” got into the longlist of Children’s Book of the Year 2015. According to the BBC-Ukraine, the novel was the first printed work of the writer. “I wanted to create a story that would include the adventures, but with each character having his own inner world,” –  describes her book the author.

In total, Award Book of the Year 2015 longlist contains only 15 editions, and longlist of The Award Children’s Book in 2015 – 8 publications.

Book of the Year 2015 were judged by: Professor at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Vera Ageeva, journalist Olga Gerasimyuk; writer, EBRD counselor for Cultural Affairs Svetlana Pyrkalo; Desk Editor at BBC Ukranian Marta Shokalo and literary critic Yuri Volodarsky.

The winner in each category will receive a cash prize of £ 1,000 (the equivalent in UAH). Publishers of the winners in both categories will be eligible to use the logo of the award “Book of the Year” in the following editions.
