Latvia will cooperate with Ukraine in the agricultural sector

Ukraine and Latvia will jointly implement a number of projects in the agricultural sector, reports the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

The Ambassador of Latvia in Ukraine Juris Poikans and the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Kutovoy discussed ways to exchange experiences in the field of forestry, aquaculture and food safety.

According to Kutovoy, Ministry of Agrarian Policy specially developed strategy “3 + 5” to use the potential of agro-industrial complex (AIC) of Ukraine and bring it to the European level.

BACKGROUND: AIC “3 + 5” includes three major priorities: state support for farmers, state-owned enterprises reform, and a fair and transparent land turnover + five directions: expansion of markets, organic production and niche culture, rural development, irrigation and food safety.
