On January 20, officials have embraced the concept of fare collection system in urban electric transport at a meeting of the executive committee of the City Council. The press service of the City Council announced this.

Deputy mayor for the city’s infrastructure Evgeny Vodovozov said that the adoption of this concept gives a good start for the introduction of a single transport ticket (“e-ticket”) on the trolley bus, tram and metro.

“The next step will be to develop terms of reference, which needs extra-budgetary funds. We can not name the specific timing of the project, but we want to do it in 2016,” said Vodovozov.

The system of unified ticket allows you to implement the systems of loyalty that exist in other European countries, so the development of tariffs and loyalty systems plan to appeal to companies that work in this area in large European cities.
