The recruitment process of prosecutors has started in Kharkiv

The special center was opened in the Kharkiv region on July 20. It started collecting documents to fill management positions of new local prosecutors’ offices in Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy and Luhansk regions according to the new Law of Ukraine “About Prosecutor’s Office”.

The press service of the regional control department announced that anyone can take part in the competition for the positions. The main requirements for the candidates: to have a law degree, five-year job experience.

Applicants will have to pass many tests and exams, but in the end they will have the last decisive interview which will be broadcasted live. It is now planned to hire 700 new prosecutors in total for the entire state.

Recall that the reform of the prosecution offices has recently launched in Ukraine in accordance to the Law “About Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine”. By the end of the reform, the total number of employees of the prosecutor’s office will not exceed 10 thousand. Due to the optimization the wage of officials is expected to increase to 15 thousand UAH.

According to the regional prosecutor Yuri Danilchenko, in Kharkiv region the optimization will decrease the number of prosecutors of the region to 789 (now – 1005).

Danilchenko also mentions that the first stage of the reform will affect the local prosecutor’s office. It is planned to create 11 new regional, city and inter-district offices instead 35 existing now.

Reception of documents will last until August 2, 2015, inclusive.
