City residents have raised 430,000 UAH in just five weeks to bolster the funds of local football FC Metallist.
On January 12, the club appealed to Kharkivens for financial aid to help restructure its debts and reduce financial pressures.
During the first month, over three thousand people, not including charities and businesses, came forward. One of the biggest individual donations was 15,000 UAH.
“We are primarily talking about individuals, the fans who the club exists for,” said Anatoly Baybakov, one of the coordinators of the Kharkiv regional charitable fund “Renaissance of the Kharkiv football” of Nikolay Ugraitskiy.
