Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine together with border guards and customs officials prevented smuggling of chips, which are used in the aerospace industry, informs the press service of the SSU.
Law enforcers detained the car “off-road” near the state border in the Volchansky area of Kharkiv region. The driver tried to drive in Russia outside the customs control. The car contained chips and welding machines worth nearly 170 thousand UAH.
According to experts, chips belong to the category of military goods. International transfer for such category of goods is possible only with permission of the State Service of Export Control of Ukraine.
The head of the regional SSU press center Vladislav Abdula said that investigators opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Currently officials try to determine the origin of chips and organizers of their deliveries to Russia.
