Acting Rector of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (KNURE) Eduard Rubin at a press conference in Kharkiv crisis information center said that the former pro-rectors whom he dismissed from work for various violations, prepare the convocation of an extraordinary academic council. The convocation is planned to hold in the absence of the rector.
“When we started this work, I realized that it would be a contrariety. I said to pro-rectors that I want them to be dismissed for this time but with pay, because I have no complaints about them. The pro-rectors rebelled and started a war: sued, invited journalists,” said Rubin.
The organizers plan to collect more than 50% of the academic council and take a decision to suspend acting rector. Rubin told that the reason for such actions was the ministerial inspection which ends on February 9. According to him, the ministerial unscheduled inspection should determine whether there was corruption under the old university administration.
According to acting rector, the work of the ministerial committee is sabotaged, it’s not provided the necessary documents on the activities of the faculty of foreign students, on procurements, some orders.
In turn, suspended pro-rectors consider actions of acting rector illegal and already applied to the police of Dzerzhinsky district about their unfair dismissal.
“I haven’t received any notification: I learned everything from the press. I don’t know if it’s a statement against education minister or against me. At the same time police also violated the established order. The law enforcers come to the university, interrogate employees but don’t notify me,” commented on Eduard Rubin.
Dzerzhinsky police department opened criminal proceedings in connection with the unlawful dismissal of the pro-rectors I.Slipchenko and N.Lesnoy.
As for the failure of the election of which Rubin was accused by Anatoly Rodzinsky, he announced that the elections will be held in May 2016 and he will stand in elections.
