The official start of the National Rally Winter Cup of Ukraine took place at the Freedom Square on January 23 and ended races on January 24 in Dergachi.
At the start there were 37 teams from different regions of Ukraine. For the prestigious trophy fought racers from Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zaporozhye, Kiev and Odessa regions. There were six classes of cars – from professional qualified for rally to amateur autos – almost original configuration. Especially for the Winter Cup near Derhachi prepared ice track of about 20 kilometers.
For the first time in the history of motor racing in the rally kicked off the team “AutoEnterprise” on electric car which immediately went into winners. And the victory in the championship of the National Cup of Ukraine won Kharkiv crews Nikolai Chmykh – Alexander Vilchynski and Stanislav Besedin – Andrey Borovoy, having won the championship for their team “XADO Motorsport”.
“We went last year to Dergachi to the training camp, we drove on the lake a couple of times. So the experience we had but participate in real race is for the first time for us,” shared the impressions Nikolai Chmykh.
Six crews left the competition for various reasons. Overall, the race showed a fairly high class of Ukrainian riders many of whom rode on the winter track for the first time.
Next competition of sports cars in Kharkiv will be held on March 8th. On Freedom Square will take place the first stage of the Ukrainian Cup on Autotesting.
