Kharkiv joined the worldwide action of UN

Today, November 9th, the Road Safety Week (that will last from 9 till November 15) starts in Ukraine, under the auspices of the United Nations. UN has identified the main theme of the activities at the global level – the safety of children on the road.

According to the Department of Healthcare of Kharkiv regional state administration, within the action it is planned to organize and conduct information and education activities on medical provision of the road traffic, involving the participation of district administrations, police departments, education departments.

The purpose of the Safety Week is to draw the public attention to the problem of child injuries and deaths on the roads and improving road safety.

During the week, all interested are invited to sign the Child Declaration for Road Safety. The collected signatures will be presented at the Second Global High-Level Conference on Road Safety, which will take place in Brazil on 18-19 November 2015.

Reference. According to the Ukrainian Medical Center of Road Safety and Information Technology, Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the 8 months of this year in the country, there were registered 82,110 traffic accidents, resulting in the deaths of 2,315 persons and also in 18,938 injured.
