The 30th metro station in Kharkiv – named Peremoha – will open within the next few weeks, as “Vecherniy Kharkiv” reports (RU).
Director of Kharkiv’s subway construction management Natalia Linnik said the station will receive rolling stock on July 28, with the public opening on August 17.
“We are currently conducting decoration work and equipment installation,” said Linnik. According to her, Peremoha will be decorated in red and white shades. All columns are made of red granite and the tops of white marble and plaster.
The city budget allocated 260,000,000 UAH for the construction work. The total amount for the construction of 30 stations since 1991 stands at 448,300,000 UAH.
Following Peremoha’s opening, subway construction workers will take up construction towards Odesska district.
“The development plan of the Kharkiv Metro hasn’t changed. The next stations will be Derzhavinskaya and Odesska, as well as construction of an electro depot on the line.”
For these purposes, the city expects to receive a tranche of 309,000,000 euros from European banks, the negotiations with which have been conducted for about 3 years.
During this time, a number of examinations and tender procedures were obtained. Negotiations between the city authorities and representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and European Investment Bank took place in April.
According to a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, construction of Kharkiv subway, track-laying and construction of stations Derzhavinska and Odesska were to begin this year and end by 2019.
