Kharkiv State Enterprise “Electrotyazhmash” is recommending be headed by a foreigner – Jean-André Barbosa.
As the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MEDT) informs, the decision to recommend the government to appoint Barbosa adopted the committee on appointments of heads of particularly important enterprises under the ministry.
Now, the Cabinet of Ministers must approve the appointment.
The salary of the new head of the state enterprise “Electrotyazhmash” will amount to $600,000 a year, said Minister of Economic Development of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius.
He emphasized the appointment should be carried out in the near future.
Jean-André Barbosa, a citizen of France and Mexico, has over 17 years of professional experience. At the moment he is a Vice President and Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe in the company of Areva – a French industrial group, which develops and manufactures equipment for nuclear and alternative energy.
The previous director of “Electrotyazhmash” Vladimir Glushakov was fired in August 2015 because of suspicions of corruption. According to the State Financial Inspection data, almost 70% of exports of products, works and services of “Electrotyazhmash” were carried out through indirect contracts.
BACKGROUND: Electrotyazhmash” is subject to Ministry of Economic Development and is in the top 100 of the largest state enterprises of Ukraine. The plant produces transport equipment for mines and railroads, as well as turbo-generators, hydro-generators and electrical direct current.
