A team of experts have been tasked with studying the wreckage and personal belongings found by local residents near the crash site of Boeing 777.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Ukraine, Kees Jan Klompenhouwer Rene, said: “We have more work to do in terms of the investigation of the tragedy with Boeing 777. A major part of investigation is completed already, but people living near the site of the tragedy continue finding some things and pieces.” The Ambassador discussed important issues with the deputy chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council, Vyacheslav Abbakumov, and the director of the Department of Economics and International Relations, Victor Kovalenko. The meeting took place on the 4th of September, during the VII International economic forum “INNOVATIONS. INVESTMENTS. KHARKIV INITIATIVES!”.

The ambassador said that the chairman of one of the nearby village councils “has collected a truck full of wreckage.” The things must be transported to the Netherlands. “Therefore, some embassy staff, in particular the police attache, a military attache, and several others will go back and take this car. The Chief Inspector of the Netherlands will come to examine what has been found,” said Klompenhouwer.

Vyacheslav Abbakumov promised “all necessary support” for the mission.

Recall, the Boeing 777 airliner, en route flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed near the village Hrabovo (Donetsk region) on July 17, 2014. There were 298 people on board; all of them unfortunately died.
