On Sunday (March 27) Ukraine moves to daylight-saving time by advancing clocks by an hour.
In accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers order, Ukraine on March 27 at 3am Kyiv time, moves to summer time.
Twice a year the clocks are moved one hour in more than 100 countries around the world: the last Sunday in March – one hour ahead, and the last Sunday in October – one hour back. This is necessary in order to bring the administrative time closer to the sun.
As of 2012, daylight saving time is used in 78 countries (including 10 countries where daylight saving time is applied in not all the regions), 161 countries don’t use it.
