Today American Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Michael Lally was on a visit to the Kharkiv region.
Lally met with representatives of business circles, members of the Kharkiv University Consortium and visited industrial enterprises of the region, the press service (RU) of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (KRSA) reported.
Governor Igor Rainin stressed during the meeting with Lally that the regional administration team will do their best to ensure beneficial cooperation both for the US business and local one.
He pointed out that the KRSA will provide foreign business and investors with full support. “I guarantee hat there will be no bureaucratic actions and corruption interfering businesses to work on the adopted world’s rules,” the governor said.
Rainin mentioned the KRSA and US Embassy in Ukraine had signed a joint action plan to fight corruption.
The US representative said the American part is interested in trade and economic relations with the Kharkiv region. He noted the city is well known by very qualified people who want to enter the international markets and so the region can bank on support and friendship of the US partners.
“I think in the framework of this agreement, we will also make working conditions for business more understandable, transparent and honest. It is essential our companies representing large, small and medium-sized businesses, show those proposals which can attract investment or which lead to the signing of certain contracts,” Rainin concluded.
