Russian elections in Ukraine: was everything ok?

On Sunday, September 18, Russians living in Ukraine participated in the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, reports RIA news (RU).

Elections were held in four cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Odessa, Lviv and Kharkiv. Total in Ukraine voted 369 Russian citizens.

Clashes occurred near the Russian consulate in Odessa and Kyiv.

Odessa activists of Pravy sector with posters (“Death to Russia”, “if you vote, go to Russia”) picketed the building. Provocateurs tried not to allow Russians into vote at the consulate building.

In Kyiv, radical protesters even tried to tear down the fence near the consulate. Some activists were detained, but soon they all were released.

In Kharkiv and Lviv no law violations were reported.
