Poroshenko dismisses head of Kharkiv’s security forces

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a job rotation of heads of departments of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), Dozor reports (RU).

Alexander Pivovar, who held the post since April 2014, was dismissed in accordance with a presidential decree as of July 16.

The new head of regional management SSU is Eduard Kritsin, who previously held the position of Head of counterintelligence protection of state interests in the field of Information security of the Security Service of Ukraine.

BACKGROUND: Interim President of Ukraine Alexander Turchynov appointed Pivovar as head of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kharkiv region on April 17, 2014. Previously, Pivovar worked in Kharkiv regional department of SSU. From 2008 to 2010 he served as first deputy.
