Foreigners can now serve in the Ukrainian army

President Petro Poroshenko signed a Decree №248/2016 “On Provisions of Military Service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Foreigners and Stateless Persons”, reports press center of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine.

The Decree is aimed at normalization of the manning of privates and NCOs who will serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the contract with foreigners and stateless persons.

The adoption of the Decree will provide an opportunity for foreigners and stateless persons who haven’t served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine earlier (however, they are in the military units now) to fulfill their duty on the protection of independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine voluntarily and duly.
