From July, wheelchair users who live in the Kharkiv region, will be able to use the services of Invataxi, which performs the transportation of people with disabilities in vans equipped with special lifts.
This was stated by Deputy Director of the Department of Social Protection of Population Tatiana Pechura, informs the press service of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (RU).
“During the second half of the year for the transportation of this category of persons is planned to allocate 160,000 UAH. This taxi service will be free. People can freely visit the regional centers for medical treatment,” explained Pechura.
Regional council deputies voted for the introduction of relevant amendments to the comprehensive program of social protection of the population in the Kharkiv region 2016-2020.
In addition, the meeting raised the need to update and increase the amount of rolling stock of transport, destined for transportation the persons with disabilities on public routes. According to the management of transport infrastructure and communication, in the metro, as well as at railway stations and bus stations there are services in support of the disabled.
