Teachers come to Kharkiv for professional updating

Hundreds of teachers will come to Kharkiv to take part in professional growth platform EdCamp Ukraine.

Chairman of the organizing committee, PhD in Technical Sciences Alexander Elkin, announced this, UKRINFORM reports.

“Ukraine has become the ninth country in the world and the third – in Europe, which joined the unique educational movement EdCamp, initiated in 2010 by leading teachers of California (USA). It differs from the usual teacher conferences. The participants in the discussion format to seek ways to improve formal education. Since 2010 the program has been implemented in 26 countries, bringing together 70,000 teachers,” said a statement.

IMG_0714_0As said First Lady and philanthropist Marina Poroshenko in her address to the team EdCamp Ukraine, thanks to this movement in Ukraine is possible to form the generation of progressive and professional educators, as well as to build a modern Ukrainian school, which will become the center of the interests and needs of children.

Among the 500 participants of the meeting on April 9 and 10 in Kharkiv – teachers, administrators, librarians, museum workers, businessmen, pupils and parents, selected by competition from 700 wishing from all over Ukraine, will participate.

For two days with the participation of experts from 12 countries, teachers will exchange experiences of teaching school subjects and return to their schools with a stock of new educational technologies. The outcome document will be sent to the Ministry of Education of Ukraine and considered as a proposal for the reform of school education.
