Ukraine has launched an international information campaign Like.U, a communication project to support Ukrainian referendum “Ukraine-EU” in the Netherlands, reported press service of KRSA.
According to Ukrinform, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine the team of production hub StratkomUA and volunteers created two websites – likeu.org.ua and myukraineis.org for the project.
“The project is based on the idea of liberation from existing clichés and stereotypes about Ukraine,” explained the department.
The initiative group of students at the Department of Information Policy organized a flash mob in support of the project on social networks – Facebook (#likeU). The campaign will run until 6 April.
BACKGROUND. April 6, 2016 in the Netherlands will be held a consultative referendum regarding the Agreement on the association of Ukraine with the EU. The poll will ask one question: “Are you “for” or “against” the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU?” The referendum was initiated by a group GeenPeil.
The referendum results are advisory and are more a recommendation for the government. In addition, voter turnout must be at least 30% for the referendum to be considered valid.
