Kharkiv machine-building plant “FED” in 2015 has invested in their production 1.9 million Swiss francs (CHF), 1.8 million euros, 275,000 USD, reported the plant.
As the chairman of the board of FED Viktor Popov announced it is planned to continue the purchase of new equipment and implement IT-technology to increase labour productivity.
The company informed that in February FED received an automatic turning lathe with computer numerical control STAR SR-32 (Star Micronics AG, Switzerland).
The lathe is designed for production of parts of aircraft units, in particular the manufacture of pistons for fuel pumps of aircraft engines. Using old equipment the manufacturing of one unit takes 40 minutes, on the new only 2 minutes.
Background: Kharkiv machine-building plant “FED” is a state enterprise of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. It produces high-precision fuel and fluid controlling equipment for the aerospace industry and carries out orders for other branches of engineering and rail transport.
“FED” is included in the list of enterprises of strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine. From April 6, 2011 the plant became a part of the State Concern “Ukroboronprom”.
