Ukraine’s flag now on world’s highest volcano

A team of four climbers with the national expedition “Flag of Ukraine on the highest peaks of the world continents” have succeeded.

Ukrainian climbers hoisted the national flag atop the highest volcano in the world – Ojos del Salado in the Andes, on the border of Argentina and Chile. It is also the second highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere.

One of the participants, Alexander Orishko posted proof on his Facebook page.

“Our team, Alexander Orishko, Denis Peskov, Yuri Gavrilyuk, Erko Andrew, and me, rose to the highest volcano of the world Ojos del Salado, which has a height of 6872 meters”, wrote the climber.

From January 24, the climbers have been completing a national expedition that intends climbing the highest peak in South America – Aconcagua – and the highest volcano Ojos del Salado. The expedition is to finish on March 3.
