Ukraine will support IT developers participating in government tenders of other countries

The team of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine reported on the readiness to assist IT-companies that want to take part in government tenders of other countries. Ukraine’s accession to the Government Procurement Agreement gives this opportunity.

The corresponding statement was made by a working group of exporters council of the Ministry at the meeting with representatives of the association “IT Ukraine”. The Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Maxim Nefodov said that the team of the Ministry is ready to accompany all tendering process, from writing letters to the Embassy to contact with volunteer diaspora to support Ukrainian participants. Companies can join the pilot project by filling out a special form.

Many Ukrainian IT companies already have an experience in execution of orders for municipalities and public organizations, not only in Ukraine but also in the EU countries, as a key competitive factor for these projects is the price.

As the director of the association “IT Ukraine” Viktor Valeev noted at the meeting that today Ukrainian IT field generates $ 2.5 billion export, which the IT business pays about 4 billion UAH of taxes from. Valeev is sure that by 2021 the industry could achieve $ 7 billion export if the government keeps the existing tax environment.

Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Natalia Mykolska told at the meeting that the bill about cancellation of obligation to conclude an export contract in paper form and sign acts by all the parties of the agreement is already prepared. Also, members of the government and representatives of the IT business have agreed to hold a promotional campaign on the Ukrainian IT industry abroad. The parties will work together to communicate with the world’s leading corporations to deploy their development centers in Ukraine. It will also contribute to the branding of the country as a leading European IT location.
