February 2, a press conference “Kharkiv regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine: the effective interaction with public authorities in modern conditions” was held at the press center of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. The chairman of the regional organization of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine Konstantin Bashkirov said that from April 2014 to February 2016 Kharkiv Red Cross helped 115 thousand IDPs.
He also said that more than 10 National Societies of the Red Cross are involved in helping IDPs in need of financial assistance, residing in the territory of the Kharkiv region. “In particular, it is Danish, Czech, German, Chinese society,” said Konstantin Bashkirov.
As mentioned the deputy chairman of KRSA Mikhail Chernyak, cooperation of the state administration and the Red Cross has reached a new level of quality.
“The Red Cross helps hospitals in the region, supplying medical equipment. The regional administration in its turn provides help for the organization. I am sure that our partnership will continue and be systematic”.
“In particular, within more than half a year the Red Cross supplied equipment to medical institutions in the region for 16 million UAH,” says Bashkirov.
Also, according to Konstantine Bashkirov, during the last 2 years about 10 thousand citizens of Kharkiv were trained in methods of rendering first aid and got the certificates of the European sample under the program of the Red Cross .
