From Saturday, January 30th, the People’s Republic of China has simplified the rules for visiting for 51 countries. And Ukraine is among them, according to Chinese media agency Chinaview. Now each Ukrainian can afford an opportunity to go to China without visa for a period of 144 hours (six days).

The simplified visa regime will operate at the sea, land, and air checkpoints of Shanghai, as well as at the air checkpoints of Nanjing (the administrative center of Jiangsu Province) and Hangzhou (the administrative center of Zhejiang Province).

Cancellation of visas for a period of 6 days extends to transit passengers who travel to a third country or region of transit through the checkpoints of mentioned areas.

Besides Ukraine, China establishes the partial visa-free regime with Russia, the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Brazil, Mexico, Japan, South Korea and other countries.

Before the introduction of visa-free travel only Ukrainian citizens with diplomatic and service passports could enter China without visa. Earlier, to obtain tourist, commercial, educational or working visa, Ukrainians, in addition to the completed application form, had to supply an actual invitation, issued by authorized organizations in China.
