On January 29 in Kharkiv will be held a torchlight procession in honor of the 98th anniversary of the Battle of Kruty. The action was organized by nationalistic organization “Jarilo” which announced about the event on their Facebook page.
The procession will start at 17:00 at the Constitution Square, further details of the action so far unknown. Everyone interested is invited to participate in the event.
A year ago, on this day in Ukraine also took place the torchlight processions, and President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko laid flowers to the Memorial Cross of Kruty Heroes.
Reference. The battle of Kruty took place on January 16 (29) 1918, near the Kruty railway station, about 130 kilometers north-east of Kiev. This battle lasted up to 5 hours between four thousandth unit of the Red Guard led by SR (Social Revolutionary) Mikhail Muravyov (later for his cruelty and tyranny he was executed by the Bolsheviks), and a detachment of 400 Kiev students and the cossacks “Free Cossacks”.
