Today, on January 16th, the representatives of many public organizations and parties concerned with the fight against corruption in Kharkiv region met in the conference hall of the “Palace Hotel” to present their reports 2015 at the round table “Corruption STOP! Results of the year”.
Three blocks of reports were devoted to various problems of territorial communities and its corruption component. The participants discussed the city budget (where and whose behalf the money is going to) corruption component in the municipal utility companies, corruption schemes in the land distribution, and problems of monopolization in the region. Also they gave attention to reforms and lustration in the city, in particular, to local elections, education, and e-government.
The practical issue of the round table “Corruption STOP! Results of the year” was the consolidation of civil society activists around the fight against corruption in Kharkiv region and formation of its follow-up activities of the working groups in each area.
Moreover, the organizers of the round table noted that this event does not constitute competition to “Anticorruption forum” to be held on Monday, on January 18th.
