A resident of Kharkiv was convicted of separatist propaganda in social networks

For a long time the 25-year-old woman, called for the creation of the “National republic of Kharkiv” (KhNR, such as DNR/LNR) on her page “VKontakte”.

The young woman works as a cook in teaching and educational complex of Novopokrov (Chuguev district).

From June 2014 till January 2015, she posted more than 100 posts with information and propaganda of separatistic ideas, pressure on the pro-Ukrainian activists, calling for destruction of state symbols of Ukraine.

She was detained and on 25 December 2015, Chuguevsk City Court found a woman guilty under art. 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine). Taking into account several mitigating factors (she was first brought to criminal responsibility, is a single mother, admitted her guilt and showed sincere repentance), the court commuted  and sentenced the woman to one year and 10 months imprisonment.

Additionally, the court credited the accused pre-trial detention from 23 January 2015 till the day of the verdict rating one day for two. The woman was released in the courtroom.
